Last week, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments on the constitutionality of the federal Defense of Marriage Act and California’s Proposition 8, considering for the first time whether or not same-sex couples have a constitutional right to marry.
I had the privilege of being in Washington, D.C. on those days, attending and helping with marriage equality rallies in front of the Supreme Court. As I wrote last week, it was both an electrifying and humbling experience — truly monumental.
