Video of the Day: Kazaky’s New Single May Contain Reference to Russia’s Anti-Gay Law

The sexy Ukrainian boy band Kazaky has just released a new single titled “Crazy Law.” Some are interpreting the song as a swipe at St. Petersburg, Russia’s law banning so-called “gay propaganda,” which lawmakers in that country are seeking to enact on a national level.

The lyrics in question:

Why am I feeling? this is a crazy law
You can have many laws, even how youre born
Why am I feeling, this is a crazy law
I’m not trying to show you something wrong.

Gay Star News reports that the video was allegedly filmed in an Eastern European prison, which lends credence to the theory that perhaps there’s more than just sexy high-heeled dancing afoot here.  Check out the video for yourself. Do you think the Kazaky boys are taking a stand against the persecution of LGBT people and allies in Russia?

And now, for nostalgia’s sake, I’m including the video that first made Kazaky famous: their single “In the Middle.” I love how they bend concepts of gender and sexuality. Enjoy!
