BREAKING: UK House of Commons Passes Marriage Equality

UK_equalmarriageThis just in: after a day’s worth of (sometimes ugly) debate, the British House of Commons has just voted to pass a marriage equality bill in the second reading. The vote was 400-175.

The bill now goes to a committee for even closer scrutiny and possible amending. It will have a third and final reading in the House of Commons before moving on to the House of Lords.
